Lonely Summer Driftin (4:39) - A light, reggae flavoured, summer song featuring 'Brownman' on fleugel horn, and Michael D. Francis (from Asleep At The Wheel,) on soprano sax, with acoustic guitars.
imPerfect Carpenter (3:14) - An acoustic, cajun flavoured song with accordion, written about my Uncle, who introduced me to the world of music, via steel guitar lessons, at 4 years of age.
Fantasy Lady (5:06) - An acoustic ballad featuring violin (Anne Lindsay from Blue Rodeo) & acoustic guitars, reminiscent of Allison Kraus and Union Station.
Rowin' Against the Tide (2:54) - A medium tempo song written during a 'blue period' in my life, and featuring acoustic guitar and Michael Fonfara on B3 organ. In style, it reminds me of Gladys Knight's 'Midnight Train to Georgia.'
Mercy, Pity, Peace and Love (5:44) - An up tempo song of gratitude, that I started writing when I met my current and only wife in 1986 and completed after we were married. It features a 'marimba' sound, with female backup vocalists, (Gail Berry & Betty Richardson.)
Let it be Me (3:43) - This is my arrangement of a love song written by 3 Quebec writers in the mid 1950's and made popular by the Everly Brothers. Its the only 'cover tune' on the album.
Hollywood (3:45) - This song, which features the same two horn players and Brian Gauci (Guitar Romp) on electric guitar has a 'Country rock feel' similar to The Band's - 'The Weight.'
Singer/Songwriter (4:24) - This is a ballad, inspired by watching Dan Hill perform as a solo artist in the bar scene in Toronto, before his 'Sometimes When We Touch Days.' I was struck by the manner in which he was able to totally envelop himself in his material, focus on the tune and bring an often  'raucous' crowd/audience to where he was at emotionally.
Northbound Feelin' (3:35) - An 'Archie Bell & the Drells' type guitar sits in the background on this song. It was inspired by, and written, while spending many summer months in the Muskoka region of Ontario. It features Harmonica, which gives the tune an 'outdoorsy, around the campfire feel.'
Unassuming Rock N' Roll Friend (4:16) - Another, light reggae flavoured song which features Jason Wilson on B3 organ and Micahel D. Francis, on tenor sax. It's about an old friend of mine, who has cleand up his act, and continues to be a faithful fan/follower.
It's Gone Away (4:08) - A ballad about unrequited love, that has a 'Young Rascal's' - Groovin' feel, with piano, violin, acoustic guitar and organ.
Back on the Road (3:26) - An up tempo tune, driven by acoustic guitars, that is reminiscent of early Jim Croce and/or Cat Stevens material.
Something So Right (3:35) - Another love ballad which features soprano sax, flute and flugel horn and talks about the early, but promising stages of a new relationship.
